PHILIPPINE ELECTRONICS IMPORT PERFORMANCE JANUARY 2025
Electronics imports in January 2026 increased by 9.60% from US$ 2.73 billion in December 2025 to US$ 2.99 billion, which is 26.82% of the country’s US$ 11.14 billion total commodity imports.

The country’s electronics imports rose by 9.60% from US$ 2.73 billion in December 2025 to US$ 2.99 billion in January 2026. See Fig. 1.
Five (5) electronics sectors went up, led by Electronic Data Processing at 33.97%, from US$ 239.38 million to US$ 320.69 million. It was followed by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (12.40%), Semiconductor Components/Devices (10.68%), Consumer Electronics (8.67%), and Office Equipment (7.52%).
Communication/Radar declined by 16.88%, from US$ 126.81 million to US$ 105.40 million. This was followed by Telecommunication (11.11%), Automotive Electronics (7.09%), and Control and Instrumentation (3.81%).
The electronics imports increased by 18.61%, from US$ 2.52 billion in January 2025 to US$ 2.99 billion in January 2026, as shown in Fig. 2.
Four (4) sectors grew, which was led by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation at 69.52%, from US$ 17.04 million to US$ 28.89 million, as shown in Table 2. This was followed by Semiconductor Components/Devices (28.12%), Electronic Data Processing (15.14%), and Control and Instrumentation (10.40%).
Meanwhile, five (5) sectors shrunk, namely, Office Equipment (35.49%), Communication/Radar (19.50%), Consumer Electronics (19.00%), Automotive Electronics (18.65%), and Telecommunication (2.61%).

COUNTRIES OF ORIGIN (JANUARY 2026)
Table 1 shows that the top five (5) countries of origin of electronics imports in January 2026 were China (28.16%), South Korea (19.66%), Japan (9.69%), Taiwan (8.60%), and the USA (7.33%).

The rest of the top ten countries of origin were Singapore (6.85%), Malaysia (4.79%), Hong Kong (3.83%), Thailand (2.44%), and Germany (2.33%).

Fig. 3 shows the top imported electronics products in January 2026. Materials and accessories for the manufacture of semiconductor devices imported from South Korea climbed by 50.93%. Meanwhile, Electronic Integrated Circuits – wafers and discs imported from the USA shrunk by 20.29%. See Table 3.
