Fig. 1: PH Electronics Exports (August 2021 vs September 2021)

Electronics exports grew by 1.70% from US$ 4.03 billion in August 2021 to US$ 4.10 billion in September 2021 (see Fig. 1).

Exports in six (6) sectors increased as shown in Table 2. Consumer Electronics had the largest increase at 25.00% from US$ 86.09 million to US$ 107.61 million. This was followed by Office Equipment (23.13%), Communication/Radar (18.78%), Control and Instrumentation (14.73%), Telecommunication (10.09%), and Components/Devices (Semiconductors) (3.83%). Please see Table 2.

Meanwhile, Electronic Data Processing contracted the most at 9.27% from US$ 661.18 million to US$ 599.92 million. This was followed by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation

(3.61%), and Automotive Electronics (2.59%).  Kindly refer to Table 2.

B. PH Electronics Exports: (Year-on-Year)

The Philippine Electronics exports increased by 5.44%, from US$ 3.89 billion in September 2020 to US$ 4.10 billion in September 2021, as shown in Fig. 2.

Seven (7) electronics sectors grew, led by Telecommunication, with a 232.24% increase from US$ 24.46 million last year to US$ 81.26 million this year. It was followed by Electronic Data Processing (13.65%), Control and Instrumentation (12.03%), Office Equipment (11.96%), Consumer Electronics (11.26%), Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (5.96%), and Components/Devices (Semiconductors) (2.66%).

In contrast, two sectors decreased namely: Automotive Electronics (51.09%), and Communication/Radar (41.55%).
