THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

SEIPI is a non-stock, non-profit industry organization and was established last October 1984. From 13 companies in its first year, SEIPIs membership has grown to 242 as of December 2007. The general membership consists of regular, associate and affiliate member companies in the philippines.

As of the last quarter of 2007, SEIPI has 103 regular members, 116 associate members, 21 affiliate members and 2 Honorary members. Of the 242 members, 103 are Filipino-owned while 139 are foreign owned companies. And the biggest foreign groups are the Japanese with 48, Americans with 34 and Germans with 13.

The SEIPI General Membership meets quarterly: January, April, July, and October of each year.

January General Membership Meeting (GMM) takes the form of a New Year's Ball and is also the venue of SEIPI's Partner of the Industry Awards. Awards are given to industry players and government representatives who have played an important role in the development of the Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Industry.

Traditionally, April GMM is held at Baguio City and is highlighted by the election of the SEIPI Board of Trustee, regular members has the right to vote in the election.

In July GMM, Cebu City is the regular place. Both GMMs have the added component of Learning Sessions geared for the industry leaders in attendance.

October is the Electronics Industry Week (Proclamation No. 184) held every last week of October. And is the celebration of SEIPIs Founding Anniversary. This activity is consist of the CEO Forum.
