The Electronics industry remains as the country’s top exporter for the month of June, with total receipts of US$ 3.35 billion out of US$ 5.70 billion, or 58.81% of the total Philippine exports.

Electronic exports increased by 4.34%, from US$ 3.21 billion in May 2018, to US$ 3.35 billion in June 2018 (see Fig. 1).
Six out of nine sectors increased, led by Telecommunication at 22.44%, from US$ 43.75 million last month, to US$ 53.57 million this month, followed by Consumer Electronics at 21.20%. The rest are Office Equipment (6.54%), Components/Devices or Semiconductors (4.16%), Electronic Data Processing (3.88%), and Automotive Electronics (2.93%) (refer to Table 2).
Three sectors decreased: Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (16.17%), Control and Instrumentation (7.56%), and Communication/Radar (3.16%),
B. PH Electronic Exports: June 2017 versus June 2018 (Year-on-Year)
Electronic exports increased by 13.47%, from US$ 2.95 billion in June 2017, to US$ 3.35 billion in June 2018, as shown in Fig. 2.
Six out of nine sectors grew, led by Office Equipment at 231.78%, from US$ 41.36 million in June 2017, to US$ 137.23 million this June 2018. Other sectors that exhibited increases were Consumer Electronics (216.77%), Communication/Radar (21.55%), Electronic Data Processing (12.22%), Components/Devices or Semiconductors (9.18%) and Control and Instrumentation (0.33%).
Three sectors declined: Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (26.90%), Telecommunication (20.02%), and Automotive Electronics (6.78%), (refer to Table 2).

Cumulative electronic exports increased by 5.29%, from US$ 17.40 billion last year, to US$ 18.32 billion this year (see Fig. 3). This comprises 55.96% of total Philippine exports.
Seven sectors increased from last year’s YTD figures. Consumer Electronics had the biggest gain at 64.77%, from US$ 162.08 million last year, to US$ 267.06 million this year. Other sectors that increased were Office Equipment (63.17%), Control and Instrumentation (13.30%), Automotive Electronics (8.31%), Electronic Data Processing (5.20%), Components/Devices or Semiconductors (3.57%), and Telecommunication (1.88%) (see Table 3).
Communication/Radar and Medical/Industrial Instrumentation decreased by 15.30% and 11.80%, respectively (refer to Table 3).
COUNTRIES OF DESTINATION (JUNE 2018)
As shown in Table 1, the top five (5) countries of destination in June 2018 were Hong Kong (22.90%), People’s Republic of China (13.64%), the United States of America (13.29%), Singapore (8.77%) and Japan (7.02%).

Other destinations in the top ten were Taiwan (5.72%), Germany (5.68%), Netherlands (4.25%), Thailand (3.63%), and Malaysia (2.73%).

The top exported electronics products for this month were Components/Devices or Semiconductors, Electronic Data Processing, Office Equipment, Communication/Radar, and Control and Instrumentation (refer to Fig. 4). Semiconductor devices bound for Hong Kong increased by 41.08%. However, hard disk drives bound for the same country decreased by 11.72% (see Table 4).
