A. PH Electronic Imports: November 2018 versus December 2018 (Month-on-Month)

01 Figure Import_MOM

Fig. 1: PH Electronic Imports (Nov 2018 vs. Dec 2018)

Electronic imports decreased by 12.76%, from US$ 2.56 billion in the previous month to US$ 2.23 billion this month (see Fig. 1).

Eight out of nine sectors decreased led by Communication / Radar at 38.89%, from US$ 190.30 million in November 2018 to US$ 116.29 million this December 2018. This was followed by Electronic Data Processing (21.59%), Automotive Electronics (11.55%), Consumer Electronics (10.55%), Office Equipment (6.55%), Components / Semiconductor Devices (9.72%), Medical / Industrial Instrumentation (9.12%), and Telecommunication (3.99%) (see Table 3).

Only Control and Instrumentation increased with 7.73% (see Table 3).

B. PH Electronic Imports: December 2017 versus December 2018.

As shown in Fig. 2, electronic imports slightly decreased by 1.56%, from US$ 2.27 billion in December 2017, to US$ 2.23 billion in December 2018.

Six sectors increased, led by Medical / Industrial Instrumentation at 33.75%, from US$ 21.10 million last year to US$ 13.98 million this year. Others that decreased were Office Equipment (21.67%), Control and Instrumentation (14.37%), Components / Semiconductor Devices (4.92%), Automotive Electronics (1.49%) (see Table 3).

Three sectors increased led by Communication / Radar at 37.43%, followed by Consumer Electronics at 36.75% and Electronic Data Processing at 3.58% (see Table 3).
